Disney Dreamin’

November 5, 2015

I’m in such a Disney mood; I loved getting to branch out after taking pictures of people for so long (which I still totally love) and Disney is always such a source of inspiration for me. You can see even more Disney photos over at my personal blog. There are also a couple new ones in the Etsy shop. Any others you’d like to see for sale?

a ONEderful year

March 19, 2013

We’ll pretend first that I’m not several months behind in blogging. Then, we’ll pretend like the year hasn’t raced by in epic fashion. Lastly, we’ll pretend that this beautiful family lives much closer to me so that I can see them more often. Deal? Deal.

This little man turned ONE last week and I am SO glad that I got to celebrate his ONEderful little life with his ONEderful parents and other awesome friends and family. He has changed so much since I last saw him… and even more since we took these. My how they grow!

I think my favorite part of it all was coming full circle from the engagement photos we took so long ago. These were the photos that signified and celebrate their decision to become a family and now they aren’t just husband and wife, but mother and father.

LCC turns ONE.

It’s beautiful. :) I feel so fortunate to watch the love continue to grow.

Back in March, Abby & James came down to San Diego for our friend Lindsay’s dance performance and we decided to take some engagement pictures too. Abby and I go waaaaaay back to middle school. We went to school together and practically lived together at the dance studio. It was a delightful time. She is one of my very best friends and I was so honored to be present back in September on the day James asked her to marry him. I’m also so thankful (and cannot wait) to be in their wedding next June (53 weeks!) at the Conejo Players’ Theatre. James is awesome and I’m so happy for these two. There are so many good times to come! Here’s a glimpse at their amazing love and hilarious personalities. Once again, I had a ton time narrowing it down! I’m going to have to come up with a new method. Haha. They’ve already seen the pictures, but I’m excited to share them with the rest of you.

Engagement Portraits in San Diego... from Ocean Beach to Point Loma, Abby and James show their love

Among my friends, it’s no secret that I love children’s books. Then, within that category, it is also no secret that I have favorite authors. Amy Krouse Rosenthal is definitely a part of that set and her Cookies books are delightfully wise.

This past Saturday, my two friends gave me the great honor of taking their engagement photos. When Abby mentioned that she’d like to try and take some pictures with a marquis (they’re getting married at the Conejo Players Theatre in Thousand Oak next June), I immediately thought of the Barnes & Noble in Point Loma. It’s a bookstore that used to be a theatre and it still has the Loma Theatre marquis out front. Since we were at the bookstore anyway, we ventured inside.

For now, here’s a teaser of what’s to come… there will be a full post once I make my way through the pictures.

Sneak Peak of Abby & James' San Diego engagement photos

“TENDERNESS means,
See how we’re lifting the fresh cookies
from the tray with care and gentleness?
That’s the same way we treat another’s heart.”

Sugar Cookies: Sweet Little Lessons on Love

Fabulous friends, fabulous books, and a fabulous afternoon. I’m so lucky.

(P.S. Seriously, her books are fabulous… all of them. I’m so glad Abby & James were such willing models to read about cookies during their engagement shoot. This post is cross-posted at Clarity Defined.)
