Fall mini sessions are coming to San Diego… WHERE in San Diego is still a little up in the air as the expected El Niño has could certainly dampen the situation. We will do our best to persevere and still get those Fall portraits done though, right? I’d love for you to join me! Please email me if you’re interested.

“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
I don’t remember the first time I heard this quote, but I know that it has stayed with me since that moment. My best friend started a team to walk for lupus. When I walk with him at the end of April, I want him to know that he is not walking alone.
I believe in the power of community. I believe that when people come together, we can accomplish the impossible. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen the world come together to support New Zealand and now Japan. We’ve watched the world wait and pray and donate to assist those that were affected personally by the earthquakes and tsunamis.
Imagine if we came together that way always.
We all have causes we care about: homelessness, poverty, cancer, slavery, the environment, life… the list goes on and on and on. They all matter; and I’m asking that you put lupus on your list. Please. In the spirit of giving, I have something to give you in return. For your support, dedication, and donation, you will receive your session at a deeply discounted rate. You will find all of the details below and you can contact me if you have any questions.
What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other.

“Promise me you’ll never forget me because if I thought you would I’d never leave.” – Winnie the Pooh
Yesterday, we remembered our veterans as a country and most of the world remembered Armistice Day. We remember because it’s important.
This weekend, I’m remembering someone else. The image below is an old picture, but an important one. You may already know from my previous fundraiser or from Clarity Defined that leukemia and childhood cancer have been motivating factors in how I live my life.
Four years ago this Sunday, my high school friend Courtney lost her battle to leukemia. She was 19 years old. She should have turned 20 the following week. She should still be here today – gearing up for another birthday and the holiday season.
If you’re gearing up for the holiday season, or just need to do some shopping, please use this 30% off coupon at Gap, Old Navy, or Banana Republic and encourage your friends to do the same. Gap, Inc. will donate 5% of what you spend to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Courtney has been a huge inspiration in my life – I hope she’ll inspire you too.
For all cancer angels, know that we won’t stop until we find a cure. We’ll never forget you. Courtney, I’ll be thinking of you even more this Sunday. I can’t believe it’s already been four years.

As some of you may know, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is an organization near and dear to my heart. Currently, my schedule does not allow the time I would need to train for another event with Team In Training, but that doesn’t have to stop me helping or contributing to this cause… and it hasn’t.
My friend Natalie is currently training for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride with TNT and I am partnering with her in her mission to raise $5000 for LLS. I am so excited and thankful for the opportunity… thank you Natalie!
In her words to her Facebook group this evening:
“Now I’ll get to the real purpose of my message… A friend, fellow Team in Training Alumni, and budding photographer is allowing me to offer you something special in return for your support. She’s been so kind as to offer her photography services at a very discounted price, with half of the cost going to benefit my fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
The LLS’s mission to better the lives of those suffering from blood cancer and ultimately find a cure is very close to both of our hearts and we would love to give you something in return for your contribution to this cause.”
Here’s the flyer… please donate to Natalie. We’d both appreciate it!
