Did you know my sweet nephew is almost seven months old now?! He had a big day at the beginning of this month. He was baptized!! It was a big day for me too – I’m his godmother. :D
It was a great weekend home with my family and I loved getting to spend so much time with this little guy. I feel super blessed to be chosen and trusted as his godmother by his parents. My prayers are many, but for now, my regular influence is limited to the board books and little lamb I gifted him since I live sort of far away. I found some great books on Amazon – a huge relief after being seriously disappointed in the baby/toddler options at Barnes & Noble.
I’m so glad my sister sends me videos and pictures all the time because I feel like I’m missing so much. He unstoppable now – crawling and starting to pull himself up! WHAT?! Baby boy, you’re just a BABY! Stop growing so quickly! :)
Now that he’s figured out crawling though, he does not have any interest in sitting still for pictures for auntie. :) My camera was way too interesting and he knew he could get it. I love this age for photos though. Plus that Baptism outfit?! I can’t even. And the bonnet. Oh goodness. Literally cannot. But, I will apologize to his future self though ’cause that was ALL auntie’s doing. I am a sucker for the bonnet, even if he does look like a little pilgrim. :) Just! So! Dang! CUTE! Come on, it’s true. Admit it.

I had the pleasure of photographing these sweet boys this past weekend. I’ve met big brother (A) a few times and we took pictures last spring, but I was excited to finally see him as a brother and get his sweet little brother in front of my camera for the first time. Z is just over 7 weeks and I was so impressed with how well he did!
It’s definitely a bit more challenging to get two wee ones (A is recently 2) and especially when the baby is past that total milk drunk newborn stage. They just don’t love being “posed” as much and they’re certainly more alert. :)
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! A to Z and certainly complete. <3

While I was home over Easter, I got to visit with Hannah and little O. It was great visiting and catching up. We had a quick little session with both of them at the gazebo near their house–head shots for Mama and some six month portraits for O. She’s definitely grown quite a lot since the last time I saw her and I loved getting to see her show off her new tricks – rocking back and forth on her knees and sitting up so stable and strong.
And as it turns out, the little angel wrapped in pink looks really good in blue. Sweet little O has the most stunning blue eyes. They are soulful and sweet, twinkling and bright, captivating and yes… smiling. She has the most smiley eyes. She speaks volumes with those beautiful eyes.
She gets them from her mama. :)
As always, it was wonderful to see you both – love from San Diego!
Can’t wait to see you again soon!

By now, you should be quite familiar with Abby and James as they’ve been on the blog a number times – showcasing their beauty, love, and hilarity in a variety of stages and fashions. It’s taken me awhile to put this blog post together… I’ve had a lack of words to describe my feelings on my most recent subject. I feel like I should let him speak for himself in his tiny, adorable baby way.
I will say this though: Congratulations on your amazing son my dear friends! I cannot wait to watch him grow and hopefully our first little photo session didn’t scar him and make him hate Auntie Bree forever. :) I can only imagine how much greatness lies within him.
P.S. The adorable elf hat you see Liam sporting was made by my talented friend Tatiana – check her out at Sweetheart Stitches on Etsy! :)

Christmas time is here again! And you may be thinking, “But Auntie Mame, it’s one week from Thanksgiving Day now!” But, and maybe it’s just me, I “need a little Christmas, right this very minute.” Yes, I “need a little Christmas now.”
Plus, who can resist beautiful children in adorable clothes? Not me!
I’ve said it a million times before, but I adore these girls. I had such a wonderful time with these little ladies at the gorgeous Old Poway Park. It was a fabulous location and I can’t wait to go back again… maybe next time when the little lady doesn’t want to eat every rock and leaf in sight. I’m so glad the weather decided to cooperate for us on Sunday.
Liz, I hope you love the pictures and they continue to bring you joy and memories for many more Christmases to come.

The holiday season is here and photo sessions are increasing in leaps and bounds. Here’s a sneak peek from Sunday’s session – expect the full post later this evening or tomorrow.
And let’s discuss the cuteness of the boots, can we please?
“All you girls stand up
Put your hands up
Come on lets rock
Gonna go all night
Gonna watch the dust fly
Show em what we got
Come on lets take a ride on top of the world
All you soul shaking heartbreakin little cowgirls”

The bond between siblings is remarkable to witness. I can get her to smile and look to the camera… and so can mommy. But big brother? Big brother can get to laugh from the innermost part of her soul and make her eyes light with joy. And that light? You can see it in his eyes too. He thrives on how he has the ability to entertain and captivate his baby sister the way no one else can. He adores her. And she him.
I had such a wonderful time visiting with and catching up with all of you – the kids get more amazing every time I see them.

“There are moments in your life that make you, that set the course of who you’re gonna be. Sometimes they’re little, subtle moments. Sometimes they’re not.”
One of my favorite things about photographs is their ability to capture the little, subtle moments… and freeze them before they change. We remember the big moments – they might be a haircut or going to school or they might be learning to crawl and saying your first word. But, we may not remember exactly how her eyelashes fluttered when she slept or the way she looked beyond her own backyard into the world. Somewhere down the line, we look to photographs to remind us of those gummy smiles and those baby teeth grins.
I hope these photographs of your little ladies can do that for you. They’re beautiful, wonderful little girls and it’s such a blessing for me to get to watch and document them as they grow.

Her mom was my very first best friend… and she’s my oldest friend. We’ve been friends since preschool. Daisies. Brownies. Schoolmates. We mothered our dolls and played for hours; elaborate stories and exciting adventures in the countryside (and sometimes the poison oak! oops!); singing Disney songs at the top of our lungs; and so on and so on…
At the end of 3rd grade, I moved hundreds of miles away. In the pre-internet, long-distance-phone-calls-are-expensive days, our friendship could have withered. Instead, we became fierce pen pals and seized every opportunity to see each other in person (even if though sometimes it may have only been once every three years). Silly letters that we’ve both kept… some of which I hear are stored in the Little Love’s room at the moment. We can see our handwriting improve… our lives mature… the price of postage going up. And through it all, you can see a friendship.
Tara, I’m unbelievably blessed by your presence in my life and I’m so glad your Little Love came early so I could meet her. She’s beautiful and I cannot wait to hear the stories of HER growing up. I watched you mother your dolls as we played for hours at my house or yours. Our imaginations ran wild and even then I knew you’d be a fantastic mom one day. In the much too short visit we had last month, I saw all of my beliefs confirmed. She’s so lucky to have you… and Dustin too.
All my love to you and your family… thank you so much for a splendid visit. And welcome to the world Little Love, we’re SO glad you’re here!
